The 2010 defense appropriations bill extended the COBRA premium reduction eligibility period for two months through February 28, 2010, and increased the maximum period for receiving the subsidy for an additional 6 months (from 9 to 15 months). The DOL has now posted on its website updated model COBRA Election Notice that reflects these changes that must be distributed by employers.
